Jazmyne Beverly

Jazmyne Beverly serves as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for Grades PreK-2nd at Mildred Osborne Charter School. In this role, she oversees the logistics, curriculum, instruction, and culture of her team. She also works closely with the principal and fellow directors to reinforce school wide culture and academic expectations, and to align her team to the overall vision and mission of Mildred Osborne. 

Jazmyne  grew up in New Orleans East and attended Warren Easton Fundamental Senior High as well as New Orleans Center for Science and Math. She graduated from both institutions in 2005. Jazmyne holds a degree in Elementary Education,B.A. from Xavier University of New Orleans as well as a degree in Educational Leadership. M.Ed. from Louisiana State University. She has been working in schools since she was 19 years old as a 3rd grade paraprofessional. She then began her teaching career as a 2nd grade teacher in the lower ninth ward at Benjamin E Mays Preparatory School. In 2013, she started teaching Math and Science in Jefferson Parish. Jazmyne received the “Teacher of the Year” award in 2016 from Jefferson Parish for her academic growth with her students. Her love for mathematics encouraged her to narrow her focus in schools in order to better understand the vertical progression and to effectively coach teachers. Jazmyne has taught math in grades 1-8 and has coached high school math teachers as an Academic Dean in Jefferson Parish Public Schools.  Jazmyne joined Crescent City Schools in 2017, as a 6th grade Math teacher and Team Lead at Paul Habans Charter School. The last two years she has served as a Director of Curriculum & Instruction at Akili Academy. Jazmyne has always had a passion for teaching scholars, growing teachers and bringing joy to school. She believes all children deserve an education that prepares them to succeed in the future.
