Lesley Blouin
Director of Family & Community

Lesley Blouin is the Director of Family & Community at Osborne Charter where she works to provide a safe, supportive, trusting and nurturing environment for students, staff, families, and community at large. As Director of Family & Community, she leads the PRIME TIME reading program which helps connect families to literacy resources, coordinates 8th grade high school placement, organizes informational sessions and family events, and collaborates with staff and other administrators to create initiatives to promote family engagement and support student success. 

 With her strong belief and commitment to educational excellence she continues to focus on family engagement, and community collaboration.  Lesley Blouin is committed to helping Osborne Charter foster a school environment where students thrive, families are actively involved, and the community is an integral part of the educational journey. Through her work, Osborne families will feel welcomed, valued, and empowered to actively participate in their children’s learning experiences.

Lesley began her teaching career as a classroom teacher in the metro Atlanta area where she taught first grade at River’s Edge Elementary. While there she received awards for the outstanding scores her students achieved on the state exams. In 2009 Lesley returned to New Orleans and was hired at Akili Academy where she has served as classroom teacher, lead teacher, grade level lead, Dean of Culture, Director of Student Culture and Assistant Principal. During the 2015 academic school year, Lesley received the Achievement Networks Teacher of the Year for her collaboration with team members, commitment to excellence, and data-driven approach to teaching. 

Lesley received her B.A. from Dillard University in Early Childhood Education and her M.A.T from Relay GSE. Lesley is also an alum of Teach NOLA.

Outside of professional responsibilities, she enjoys spending time with her own family and traveling.
