Last year was an exciting year for our Osborne community! We received the news that we earned a “C” score for SPS and we were recognized as a “Rising Star” school by NOLA-PS for our incredible growth! I am eager to start this school year with you and to continue to put our school on the path towards achieving more academic growth and excellence. I appreciate your support into next school year and beyond. I know there will be countless phone calls, text messages, emails, parent conferences, and school celebrations we will attend together!
Our mission at Mildred Osborne is to relentlessly pursue educational equity by providing students with the academic skills, character development, and problem solving mindsets needed to succeed in high school, excel in college, and create a more sustainable and equitable world for themselves and others. Staff, students, and families will need to work together to achieve this mission and increase student performance.
Through high academic and behavioral expectations, life-altering relationships, and student support systems, we hope to make a positive impact on the lives of Mildred Osborne students.
Families are integral partners in the Mildred Osborne community and we welcome your involvement, assistance, and feedback. Your support is crucial in helping us meet TWO BIG GOALS for the school year. The first is that we want 70% or higher attendance at each of our Report Card Days so be ready to come out for the first Report Card Day of the year on Monday November 2nd! The second is we want 95% daily attendance! Please help make sure that your child is at school and on time EVERY DAY! The more they are at school, the more they are reading and putting themselves on the path to success!
